Alex Maidment

I wish I could say that I was always a hard-core gamer and whilst I have been gaming since a young age, with the likes of Crash Bandicoot on the PS1 teaching me many things about how to game, I used to believe that playing outside with friends was more fun. Crazy right? It has only been in the last couple of years that I have stepped up the pace to become a more serious gamer. Whilst I have owned a Gameboy Colour, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, PS1, PSP and PS2, my main source of gaming is an Xbox 360 with a mix of games to fuel my passion. I play everything from the various COD and Halo games to Fifa and Forza with RPGs somewhere in between. Sometimes, I pull the old Nintendo DSi out from the dark, blow the dust off and get on with some serious Mario and Pokemon action, but this sadly isn’t very common. When I am not glued to a screen or writing about games, I am studying a Journalism and Media BA (Hons) Degree at Coventry University.

Current Consoles: Xbox 360, Nintendo DSi [RED!] (Also have an iPod Touch 4G and Archos 101 G9 Turbo Tablet and MacBook Pro which I use for gaming!)

Favourite Game: Currently Halo 4… but this will probably change when I get bored of it.

Game which has made you ‘lose your cool’: Has to be Fifa 12 – almost broke my new controller because of an online game

Favourite Retro Game: Crash Bandicoot – if you can call that retro?

Future Console: Xbox One – Not sure about Day One edition but I will get one!

Yes, that is a Limited Edition Tritton Halo 4 Trigger Stereo Headset (for the Halo/Xbox nerds out there) and that is also an Official Chrome Red Xbox 360 Controller, not limited edition but nice and good for gaming!
